Today the Rangers defeated Russian KHL side Metallurg Magnitogorsk to win the inaugural Victoria Cup in Bern, Switzerland.
I must admit the Rangers were getting it handed to them. They were down 3-0 for most of the game but eventually clawed back to win 4-3 on a beautiful Ryan Callahan game winner with about 15 seconds left in the game.
It was a good game overall, but the ice was just terrible and made for some chippy hockey here and there.
Players of Metallurg were offered an incentive of $100,000 each if they were to win.
This win for the Rangers came after they destroyed Swiss side SC Bern yesterday 8-1. The Rangers next play Saturday to open the NHL regular season against the Lightning in Prague, Czech Republic.
